Sad Day
Published on July 1, 2008 By RickJP In Community
From the web site. Skinartistry.com is now officially closed due to hackers installing a series of php scripts, to send out spam, and other various malware. I am sorry that it had to come to this, but they say the third time is the charm. To all those that made SA what it is today, I thank you. Especially all Admins, thanks for your hard work! I will be talking to some that may want to revive the site, but for now, SA is Closed for business This is a shame had not been a member over there for long but a lot of good stuff being turned out.

Just wanted to say Thanks Tom for being a good friend. He fought those hackers too many times.

It's a shame to. These dirty bastards that have nothing better to do than to ruin something that benefits many people. SA was much more than a skinning site. Those of you that visited frequently would know that. There was a kindred spirit there that just does not exist anymore on the big sites.
It started a few months ago with people spamming the comments with porn links. We had to do some hefty database enemas to get that one clean.
I hadn't signed on in a few days so this one hit me out of the blue.

Sigh...

I'am sorry to hear about the closing of SA.  I remember the last time this happened.  All us small and even big sites worry about this.

It would be great news if the site can be revived ... but who knows ? ?

To anybody who knows about these type of things... I was wondering how forums can actually prevent this from happening ... ?

It happened to SA ... in that case ... and God forbid ...it could happen here ...

How does WC stop this type of stuff happening .. ? ?

I think it's complete and total bull**** that things like this can even happen.I hope those committing these types of acts can be caught someday and dealt with appropriately.

Yes, It's a loss for the online skinning community as a whole.  It always is when one of the sites 'goes down' for whatever the reason, and sadly it happens a lot more frequently than most would like to remember, and not 'only' to the smaller sites, either.

Hackers, crackers, phreakers, and OTHER wankers should ideally be shot.....much of it is urban/social terrorism, nothing more.

Damn, this really stinks.    I'm gonna miss going there.
