Sad Day
Published on July 1, 2008 By RickJP In Community
From the web site. Skinartistry.com is now officially closed due to hackers installing a series of php scripts, to send out spam, and other various malware. I am sorry that it had to come to this, but they say the third time is the charm. To all those that made SA what it is today, I thank you. Especially all Admins, thanks for your hard work! I will be talking to some that may want to revive the site, but for now, SA is Closed for business This is a shame had not been a member over there for long but a lot of good stuff being turned out.

Hackers, crackers, phreakers, and OTHER wankers should ideally be shot....

Shot? I have a better idea, hang them up by their wrists and draw and quarter them in a public square!

SkinArtistry will be sorely missed.

Yup, it's a sad loss. So much effort, time, comittment, talent, etc.... What I wouldn't give to have the bastards in a room with no exits for say..... 5 minutes. I know that's not a solution but, I'd sure feel better. Sorry guys, so many give so much and stand proud of all of that! RAD

Let's hope it comes up again with some better ideas to fight those hackers. What can we do to protect here?
Thank GOD! Zubaz is here.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but how the hackers were able to install such scripts... U mean to say they uploaded something bad

It is a very sad day to hear this news. Skinartistry was a great site and one of my favorites to visit.

It was a fine site with some special peeps and this is indeed a great loss. So easy to take sites like Skinartistry for granted. I certainly have been guilty of that. Thanks to Tom and the admins for putting on a fine show.

Myself NOT being a hacker, nor having a thorough knowledge of php, couldn't begin to answer that. This entire thing happened so fast that I was left out of the communication loop and thus have no details. Perhaps Reppiks or Bones will show up here and enlighten us all a bit more. I'll shoot some emails out and try to pass more infor along as I find out.

I had not been as active during the past several months as I would like to have been but I think I can safely speak the following for all the admin staff.

To all that have expressed concerns and condolences, thank you so much for your heartfelt comments. It was a pleasure being associated with all of you in one manner or another. We will miss that interaction as much as you will miss coming to see us.
